The Michigan Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) exists to promote, within Michigan, the learning of all PK-12 students through the promotion of high quality preparation and continuing education for all school personnel. MACTE is the state affiliate of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

MACTE is a voluntary organization of colleges and universities in Michigan that prepare teachers and other educational personnel. As the sole organization in Michigan that represents the institutional interests of collegiate-based teacher education, MACTE gathers and disseminates data, proposes and analyzes public policy initiatives, supports professional advancement and networking, and represents the professional educator preparation community before state and national governments.
